Live from Japan: A New Arrival Experience for Caption by Hyatt

In hospitality, the first few minutes of a guest's stay can set the tone for their entire experience.
After booking online, checking in for flights via mobile apps and managing much of their travel digitally, today's travellers increasingly expect their hotel arrival to be just as seamless. While some guests appreciate a traditional welcome at the front desk, many simply want to complete check-in quickly and start enjoying their stay.
The challenge for hotels isn't choosing one experience over another. It's delivering both.
That's exactly what Liverton Group has helped achieve at Caption by Hyatt Namba Osaka with the introduction of SmartStay Self-Service Kiosks.

Located in the heart of one of Japan's busiest entertainment and shopping districts, the 167-room lifestyle hotel welcomes a diverse mix of domestic and international travellers. With guests arriving throughout the day, often in waves during peak check-in periods, the hotel required an arrival experience that could keep pace with demand while reflecting the modern, flexible nature of the Caption by Hyatt brand.
As Liverton's first SmartStay deployment with Hyatt, the project marks an exciting milestone and showcases how connected hospitality technology can elevate both the guest experience and operations.
Designing Arrival Around the Modern Guest
Caption by Hyatt has built its reputation around vibrant, modern spaces, flexibility and experiences designed for today's traveller. Introducing SmartStay extends that philosophy into an important touchpoint in the guest journey.

Fully integrated with leading property management systems, payment gateways and loyalty programmes, SmartStay enables guests to complete check-in and check-out in an average of just 2 minutes and 30 seconds.
Guests can verify their identity using government ID scanning and facial recognition, select their preferred room from an interactive floor map, purchase upgrades such as late check-out or parking, and receive their room key all through a single intuitive interface.
With multilingual support and 24/7 availability, SmartStay guides guests through the check-in process in their preferred language, allowing international travellers to check in confidently, and regardless of when they arrive.

Rather than treating check-in as simply an operational task, SmartStay transforms it into an opportunity to personalise. Hotels can present dynamic upsells, including room upgrades, breakfast packages, parking, food and beverage experiences, and late check-out, showing guests what's available to them at the right moments, while unlocking valuable incremental revenue.
With custom branding, enterprise-grade SOC 2 compliant security and more than 75 integrations across the hospitality technology ecosystem, SmartStay easily integrates into existing hotel operations while delivering a connected digital guest experience from arrival through to departure.

Bringing SmartStay to Hotels Around the Globe
The installation at Caption by Hyatt Namba Osaka represents Liverton's first collaboration with Hyatt and another exciting step in expanding SmartStay's presence across leading hotels around the world.
A big thank you to the Hyatt team, our partners and everyone involved in bringing this project to life.
As guest expectations continue to evolve, connected self-service technology is no longer viewed as a nice-to-have. It is becoming an expected part of the modern hotel experience, helping hotels deliver the speed, flexibility and convenience today's travellers increasingly demand.
